As some readers will know, Dollar Academy, one of the leading independent schools in Scotland, has a new Rector.
Having had a very positive relationship with John Robertson, who retired at the end of the summer term, I was very keen to introduce myself and Step Ahead to his successor, David Knapman.
I was invited to meet with him this week, and am delighted to report that we established a fine accord. Mr Knapman was educated at Morrisons in Crieff and has spent the last few years in the London Area, so has experience of both rural and urban settings. He is clearly thrilled to be leading such a fine school as Dollar, and from all reports has made a very promising start.
The Rector was already aware of the very large number of pupils whom we have assisted over the past decade or so in gaining entrance to his school and also in helping pupils to ensure the highest examination results, but I was keen to explain the care and attention that we give to each and every individual tutee and to the importance of helping parents to appreciate whether their children have the potential for contemplating a move to Dollar.
We trust that a long and fruitful relationship has been started.
